The Met Gala is a buzz generator each year in the fashion world. Guess what? 2022 is no different as the fashion statements were loud.
The event is often regarded as Fashion’s biggest night. It is a fundraising benefit for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The Gala is seen as the most prominent social event in the world.
Anna Wintour, New York Journalist and Editor in chief of Vogue has chaired the Met Gala since 1993. It is held every first Monday in the month of May.
In America: An Anthology of Fashion was the year’s theme. The official dress code was “Gilded Glamor”.
The official dress code refers to the gilded age, an era between 1870-1900. The gilded age featured immense economic growth, hypocrisy and inequality.
And Yes, long trains, and a whole lot of glamour weren’t lacking at the red carpet. Everyone came to make a mark.

She wore a Versace gown inspired by the Statue of Liberty. The gown transformed from bronze to blue-green train when her team undid the giant bow.
However, the train had constellations from Grand Central Station from the back. She wore matching gloves and a tiara like the statue of liberty.

The reality TV star made entrance with Pete Davidson. She wore Mariyn Munroe’s famous “Happy Birthday Mr President”. Not to mention the same one. Though she swapped it for a copy to stay in the dinner.
